Using size "H" 5mm and "G" 4.25mm Hooks, WW size 4 yarn, I used Red Heart Super Saver in Soft Navy, Turqua, Soft Brown, White, and Black, a stitch marker, and a needle for sewing/weaving in ends.
Starting ch does not count towards final st count.
Base/body:
Using "H" 5mm hook and Soft Navy
Rnd 1: start with mc, ch 2, 12dc into mc sl st into first dc to join. (12)
Rnd 2: 2dc in each st around sl st into first dc to join. (24)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, in blo 1 hdc in each st around sl st into first hdc to join. (24)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 1 hdc in each st around sl st into first hdc to join. (24)
Switch to Turqua

This next round makes the ears on Finn's hat.
Rnd 15: ch 1 sl st in next 7 sts, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, sl st in st just below the sc you just made, sl st in next 8 sts, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, sl st in st just below the sc you just made, sl st in hte next 7 sts, sl to top of first ch. You should have 24 sl st's around, and the small peaks to make Finn's ears when you finish. Also make sure you work your sl st's loosely or else you'll end up with a super tight opening that won't stretch.
Face:
Using "G" 4.25mm hook and Buff
Rnd 1: Start with a mc, sc 6 into mc (6) (do not join)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: 1 sc in first 2 sc in next, repeat around. (18)
Rnd 4: 1 sc in each st around. fo leave tail long enough for sewing. (18)
For the eyes and mouth I used a small amount of black and stitched them on before sewing the face to the body. After you've done this, line up the face where you want it and stitch it in place and you're done!
