Brodie and his rubber boots!

A few weeks ago Brodie, Jaxon and I were out doing our weekly grocery shopping. We happened to stroll by the shoe department in Walmart, and Brodie saw a display of rubber rain boots. He wanted a pair so bad, he was determined to have them then and there, but sadly they weren't in our budget that week.

The very next day we had to go back to the store for some yarn, and since I had a little extra cash I went ahead and got him the boots. He instantly put them on, and kept them on until I paid for them. I then put them in the bag and he pulled them right out and put them back on his feet. Since then he hasn't worn any other shoes at all. Two weekends ago I took the boys to get their pictures taken, I managed to get a nice pair of tennis shoes on Brodie, as we were walking out the of the front door he turned around bolted for the shoe tub, threw his tennis shoes in there and slid his boots on. I guess he knew what he was doing because his solo picture with his boots on is such an awesome picture!

All in all this boy is going to drive me nuts with these silly boots!

Under Construction for now!

It just so happened I decided I wanted to change my blog up a bit today, I logged in and discovered my background was missing. Needless to say I was a bit sad, but oh well. Life goes on. Now it's time to find a new background and change up the blog a bit. So hopefully within the next few days my blog will be decent! I have lots of stuff I can't wait to blog about! Hopefully I'll put my blog to good use now that it's over a year old!

Until next time....

Back in the swing of things!

I'm finally starting to get back in the swing of things with taking care of 3 rambunctious boys, and working on my favorite hobby.....crocheting! I've opened my shop Mandie's Krafty Kreations back up, and we're starting up with a few giveaways! First up are two winners who will each receive one custom hat of their choice, then I will also giveaway two smaller prizes of a hair accessory or little lady handbag. So that's four winners total this time!

To enter in this giveaway you must:

2. Be a fan of my Facebook page. The link is in the first paragraph of this post, it's also on the bottom right side of my blog.

3. Once you follow both my blog and my Facebook page, go look through the pictures on my Facebook page and find the post on my wall saying "to leave a comment" and let me know what your favorite item is or something you'd like to see me make in the future!

It's pretty simple. Hope you all have fun, and the winners will be drawn on Tuesday July 26th! Good luck everyone!

Until next time......

He's here!

This is just going to be a quick catch up post.

We are proud to announce the birth of our third son, Jaxon David Barton Lawson. He was born at 8:25am on Tuesday May 24, 2011. He weighed a very healthy 9 pounds 14.4 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

He's been such a wonderful baby so far, and we are blessed to have him as a part of our family. Both of his big brothers are enamored with him and love helping out when it comes to the baby.

Kris is out of school for the summer, and I'm thinking of signing him up for either the summer reading program, or another type of kids only thing to keep him busy instead of sitting around the house so much.

As for Brodie he's just as ornery as ever. Even tho he's only 28 months now, I'm totally looking forward to him turning 4, only because I know things get a bit easier at that age. ;-)

Until next time.....

I'm a really bad blogger!

Wow so I've skipped the whole month of March. *oops* so much has gone on in the past couple months. We had a scare over Jaxon's gender. At our 22 week scan he looked more like a girl than a boy, but we couldn't tell for sure. Luckily enough we had another level 2 scan at 30 weeks and he is for sure a boy! He also looks so much like his big brother Brodie! Looking at the pictures it's almost like having the same baby over again. Guess this explains the dream I had back in the first trimester when I gave birth to a smaller version of Brodie.

Other than that life has been pretty good. Everything is falling into place as it should. We're just about ready for Jax to be here. We still need to get his bassinet and a couple cases of disposable inserts for his diapers, along with a few basics. All his clothes are washed and now put away. We even got him a brand new carseat. It's the Graco SmartSeat. I'm pretty sure it's the best $300 we've ever spent. I know I'll never need to buy him another carseat. This one grows with him and it's so awesome! I've had a lot of fun playing with it the past few days.

We're also in the market to buy our first house! How exciting! Tho so far none of the houses we've looked at really fit our needs or likes. We decided to opt for buying land and a manufactured home. We found a gorgeous singlewide that is perfect! We also found 3.6 acres of land outside of town that we're hoping to be able to purchase!

I still can't believe that we only have 6 weeks left until my scheduled c-section! It's so exciting thinking we're that close to the end! I've had a hard time sleeping lately though there's so much on my mind. Our hospital usually takes the baby away to the nursery after birth and while the mother is being stitched up and sent to recovery for an hour. I'm hoping to change that with this delivery. Even if I have to pitch a fit. I don't know what makes me any different than a mother who gives birth naturally. I mean they get to keep their newborns with them the whole time. It's not fair to me just because a doctor says I have to have a repeat c-section! Well phooey on them! I feel I deserve equal treatment! I want them to clean Jax up in the OR and allow my mother who will be in surgery with me to hold him. When I get sent to recovery then I want Jeff to come in and be with me and the baby until we get moved to our room on the 2nd floor! I don't think it's too much to ask. I know for a fact through research that hospitals in other towns allow this. I want to be able to bond and breastfeed my baby right away. Something I wasn't able to do with either of my other boys, all because some doctor jumped the gun and said I have to have a c-section with my first son.

Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant, but it's something I'm just so passionate about!

Well I'm pretty sure that's the rundown of what's been going on in the Lawson household.

and for fun, pictures of my beautiful boys! <3

I'm such a slacker!

I haven't blogged in awhile, just wanted to post that all is well in the Lawson household. I've been so busy with orders the past few weeks! Hopefully I'll be caught up this week! We had our level 2 scan on the 26th of January, everything looked great, except little Jaxon didn't give the tech the views of his heart that he needed. Also we're not entirely sure Jaxon is still a Jaxon! We'll hopefully find out for sure next month. I have to go back on March 23rd to make sure everything is still well!

Brodie had his big 2 year old checkup yesterday! He's growing right on track. He's perfect in every way!

Kris is doing well in school! I'm so proud of him, I still can't believe he's going to be 10 this Summer! He makes me feel old!

Well this is just a quick catch up! I must be getting back to work!

My very own giveaway!

This week I am hosting three (3) giveaways on my Facebook page. Feel free to like my page and enter the contest. Rules are posted on my page, please read them before entering. The prize for each giveaway is a newborn helmet style hat. One is neutral, one is blue, and one is pink. You don't have to have a newborn, or have one on the way! These also make great photography props!

Mandie's Krafty Kreations

Today I managed to pick up some super cute material to make the boys quilts, and cloth books! I'm excited to get started on those, but before I do I've been practicing with random material. The first thing I made today was a cute little "baby" pillow! Brodie loves it and I can't seem to get it away from him now! I'll try to post pictures of it tomorrow so I can share them.

As for the boys, they are doing great, Brodie is his usual feisty self, and Kris has been doing fairly well in school. Jaxon has finally worked his way out of my back and I once again look pregnant. The only downfall to this is that I don't have any maternity clothes right now, and there are no stores in this area that carry them. Guess I'll have to shop online soon or live in sweats and yoga pants for the next four-ish months!!

Until next time....

Another warm Winter's day!

For as many years as I've lived in New Mexico, we've generally had cold Winters, this year however, was completely weird! It's been so warm and we've only had a couple days in the 40's every other day has been 60+. At least it's been a pretty mild year.

I also went to the doctor again today, which I do once a week anyway. I met with the fourth provider at the office. I waited for over an hour in the waiting room, and then an additional forty-five minutes in the exam room only for her to be in there for five minutes then leave. I didn't care for her much, she seems very distant, doesn't have a very friendly attitude, and didn't read my chart at all, if she had, then she'd know that I don't have high blood pressure, and I don't need medicine for it either. So when I left and scheduled my appointment for next week, I specifically asked for the doctor I have seen since 8 weeks. Now that I have met all the providers in the office here, I can make my choice on who is going to be performing my c-section in May.

Other than that, the last few days have been pretty uneventful. We finally got Kris his first cell phone, granted it is prepaid, but now he can have some sort of sense of responsibility. I can't wait to see how he handles it. He's doing better in school as well. I'm so proud of him.

Brodie has been, well Brodie! He's such an ornery little guy. His new thing is growling at his father and myself. He is learning to clean up his messes, and we're slowly working on potty training. I keep saying it would be awesome if he were fully potty trained by the time Jaxon is born, but I don't think I'm that lucky.

As for Jaxon, he has worked his way into my back. I totally do not look pregnant anymore, I do however feel like I am. I'm so excited thinking that in right at four months I will be meeting our new little guy! I've picked up a few outfits for him and am still on the search for his "coming home" outfit. I'll probably get it at Target when I am in Roswell in a couple weeks. I'm still in shock that we're past the halfway mark already! According to the chart I have I will be entering my sixth month in a week and two days! I've also started on his first blanket, it should be done this weekend, and I'll also be making him a matching hat!

Until next time....

Back to Business!

Today marks the official end of my vacation! Mandie's Krafty Kreations is back up and running! I can't wait to get back to work, although I didn't really take much of a break this past month. I'm still looking forward to the new book I ordered to come in! I can't wait to start making some cute little monsters for my cute little monsters!

I also wanted to say that yesterday officially marked the half-way point in my pregnancy! I still can't believe that I have just a few short months to go before baby Jaxon is here!

Today we also switched Auto body shops for the truck, the first shop was pretty much giving us the run around, and now steps are finally being taken to fix our beat up truck! Hopefully in just a couple short weeks my "baby" will look normal again!

Until next time....

One of those days.

Yup today was one of those days. I won't actually mind if you even get a laugh out of my unlucky-ness either!

Any-who, the day started off pretty normal, clingy Brodie, hungry husband and older son....blah! So we get up and get moving, lunch time rolls around, we take the boys to Chile's for lunch, Brodie became a total turd wanting to climb back and forth across the table to me and Jeff, he wouldn't sit in his booster, he was just an all around a pain, then he took my cell phone and hit the lady in the booth behind us *oops* I was sooooooo embarrassed. I apologized of course, and we ate and left.

We get home, and relax until close to dinner time, I run to the store to get a couple things to make breakfast for dinner, I get home, I have everything almost made and ready to go, I then take out the egg skillet and start cooking the eggs and my darn stove catches on fire! ACK! Jeff finally gets it out as it's only one of the burners. The whole house was so smokey and it burned our eyes!

Then after dinner we're relaxing and I tell Kris it's bath-time, so he goes to take his shower, and Brodie freaks, he strips down and I tell him to relax I'll bathe him in a few minutes when Kris gets out. I go back to crocheting a blanket I'm working on, and I hear a boom and Brodie start crying! He walked from the livingroom to the diningroom, got the bottle of syrup off the table and poured it on the floor, he kept falling and couldn't get back up, we had no idea syrup could be so slippery! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry or be mad at him, he literally walked away from me and did this within seconds. I have Jeff come get him to throw him in the tub with Kris since he's all sticky now. Apparently Brodie was also dirty and I didn't know. So Jeff's gagging, Kris is screaming b/c Jeff threw Bro in the tub with him poop and all, and I'm trying to clean and mop the floor in the diningroom. Kris comes running in, in a towel and I tell him to dry off and get dressed, while I now drain the poop filled tub that Brodie is pretty much on his belly swimming in. I turn on the shower, soap him up and wash him off. Gah I don't think today could have gotten any crazier!!!!

Thankfully everyone is now clean, in pajamas in in bed! It's been a long crazy day in the Lawson house. Tomorrow Kris goes back to school and Jeff goes back to work, so hopefully things will chill out around here, then again while living in a house full of boys I don't think things could ever actually be "chilled out"!

Until next time.....

Shout Out & Cute Creations

Today I wanted to give a shout out to the wonderful ladies at Simply Sweet Designs That's the website where an awesome designer named Emmaline is helping me make this blog look amazing!

I know quite a few of the ladies on that site, and they are simply amazing designers, they can make anything from siggys, to printables, layouts, to just about anything you can think up but can't quite create yourself!

I also wanted to say that today I purchased a cute little book from Amazon It's called "Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More!" By Christen Haden. I can't wait to get it in and get to work making little creatures of my own!

As for little baby L - Jaxon, he's growing just fine. We're measuring almost 2 weeks ahead, not sure if it's him or the water, or just me, but we'll find out roughly how big he is in just over 2 weeks now. I can't wait to see him again.

Until next time.......

Time for some change

For those of you who've been keeping up with my blog, you've probably noticed that I have changed some things, and I am in the process of giving my blog an all over makeover! :D I should be done before the weekend is over. I'm hoping to have something really nice that relates to my family and life.

On another note, our poor kitty Socks has been moping around since last night. On November 22nd, she gave birth to five little bitty kittens, and last night the last two went to new homes. She has however been my shadow since this morning! I'm sure she senses the baby!

Also before I forget. Mandie's Krafty Kreations will be opened up this coming Monday, January 10th! I'm excited to get back to work. Though I really didn't get the break this past month that I thought I was going too. I was busy filling last minute Christmas orders and of course the prizes for the winners from my last giveaway.

Until next time......

Well hello 2011!

Sadly I promised I'd be a better blogger, and well I haven't lived up to that! *oops* So much has gone on since September and finding out that our third little miracle was on the way! I had my very first ultrasound on October 19, 2010. The blob that is our baby was just relaxing in there with a wonderfully strong heart-rate of 160bpm. I couldn't have been happier at that moment to see that something was actually in there and was the cause for all my heartburn! Oddly enough my first trimester went by without a hitch. No morning sickness at all, thank goodness, just the occasional bout of heartburn or being overly tired. I am a type 2 diabetic, and I did have to switch from the pills I've taken to help control it to insulin injections, which haven't been entirely fun!

Photobucket

Because I am diabetic I am also considered highrisk. I have to go to the OB every week which seems to cause my pregnancies to drag on, though I do know all the extra care is worth the final result! I have to have a highrisk level 2 scan sometime during my second trimester. I wasn't able to get an appointment during December and the next time they are down this way won't be until the end of January. We now have 3 weeks left until the big scan, but I was desperate to know if we would have our third little boy, or if we were having a girl this time! Since I was so impatient I traveled to Odessa, Texas on the 21st of December to have an elective 3D/4D scan done. It was so worth it. I'd never had one done before and some of the pictures we received made the baby look a bit alien like, that was expected for only being 17 weeks and 2 days. but it was exciting to see him/her again! I also realized after I got home that my scanner glass was covered with tiny finger and palm prints thanks to my toddler, so don't mind that the pictures have prints on them!

This is my favorite picture of the baby so far. From this view, I can tell he/she is going to look a lot like his/her big brother Brodie!

it's a.........

Photobucket

I already knew in my heart what I wanted to name him, it took a couple weeks to get the hubby to come over to my side!

Photobucket

Jaxon, because I am in love with the name, and David after my youngest brother David Lee. He was born on July 12, 1994 and passed from SIDS on July 23, 1994. He was only with us for 11 short days, but will live on in our hearts forever!

I will try to keep the updates coming more frequently now that I actually have a little more time on my hands. I went to see my OB yesterday, and I've been fortunate that even though there are four providers in the office I have only had to see him. He did inform me that I have to meet the other two highrisk OB's before I decide who I want to perform my c-section. I already know I want him to do it. I don't click with one of the providers and one I don't know. So a week from tomorrow I will meet the other provider, even though I know my choice will not change. At 28 weeks I will set up a date to have my c-section done. I am shooting for after the 21st of May. I want to get as close to my DD and June as possible.

Until next time.........
